According to sources of DigiTimes, Apple has started certifying process of components for the iPad 3. Few of them have already got certification such as Radiant Opto-Electronics for LED backlight units.
According to sources, Taiwan-based component makers for backlight modules and light bars have gained certification from Apple. However, industry sources also added that the certification of panels is still in progress.
According to components maker, the iPad 3 release date should be scheduled somewhere in March-April 2012. Earlier there were rumors that Apple would release iPad 3 later this year now seems to be false. Another rumor was that will adopt AMOLED panels for iPad 3 and Apple management team has been visiting Samsung Electronics for the same. However, reliable sources said that it is unlikely to happen; iPad 3 will have a 9.7-inch LCD panel.
