Apple iPad 3 'to feature 8MP camera'

The iPad 3 may feature an 8-megapixel camera when it is announced as expected next month, as Apple attempts to keep ahead of its tablet rivals.

Taiwanese publication Daily Apple (via Apple Insider) claims to have tracked down a genuine iPad 3 casing, which appears to show a larger lens than the often criticised 2-megapixel camera in the iPad 2.

The report speculates that the tablet will have an 8-megapixel camera similar to the iPhone 4S, capable of shooting 1080p videos. It also says that the slightly tapered edges of the tablet casing would appear to accommodate a larger battery.

Apple iPad 3 Retina display confirmed and logic board leaked

As Apple's iPad 3 nears its expected official unveiling in early March, solid details and images
have begun to emerge, with the most significant report, that MacRumors has obtained an iPad 3
Retina display and has been able to verify for itself that the panels indeed features an ultra-high
resolution. How? You may may ask; the good old-fashioned approach of placing the screen under
 a microscope for scrutiny.

MacRumors found the iPad 3 screen to be four times as dense as that of the iPad 2, confirming a
doubling of both the horizontal and vertical resolutions to 2,048 x 1,536. At the same time the screen
was also confirmed to be of the same dimensions as its predecessors at 9.7 inches. Images have also
now emerged from other sources, strongly hinting towards many of these displays featuring Samsung
 branding, as previously expected.

iPad 3 Apple A5X chipset reportedly leaked

The iPad 3‘s logic board bearing its new Apple A5X processor has leaked, if Chinese tipsters are to be believed, the latest component from the hotly-anticipated third generation tablet to break cover. Although previous speculation had centered on Apple using an A6 chip in the new iPad, the photo shared at forum WeiPhone suggests a more evolutionary rather than revolutionary upgrade is intended. Yesterday, another iPad 3 component leak indicated the new model would have an 8-megapixel camera and slightly different styling.

Mini iPad 3 In the Works?

Amazon’s Kindle Fire has proved that a tablet can be relatively small and still sell well. So why can’t Apple create a smaller, less expensive version of the iPad to compete with a product that is taking sales? In fact, the Kindle Fire has taken away as many as 1 to 2 million sales away from the iPad, according to Morgan Keegan analyst Tavis McCourt. Granted, Apple is still selling its iPad in drones and the iPad has 61.5% market share of all tablet shipments in the world, slightly down from 63.3% market share in the preceding quarter. Regardless, a less expensive iPad may help solidify Apple’s dominance at little risk to its bottom line.
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Apple is testing designs for an 8 inch model of the iPad, which would sport a resolution similar to the iPad 2. Whether or not such a design comes to fruition will likely be revealed in early March, when Apple is expecting to announce the iPad 3. According to analysts, diversifying the iPad portfolio would be a wise strategic move because the tablet market is getting increasingly competitive. Furthermore, Apple has shown in the past, through its iPod lineup, that diversification can lead to a decade’s worth of market share dominance.
Steve Jobs, in October of 2010, said that the current 9.7 inch size of the iPad was the minimum size needed to support tablet apps. If he were alive today, he’d likely still stand by this statement. At the same time, the market has shown that people are willing to sacrifice screen size for a lower price. Although the Kindle Fire may not be taking away too many sales from the iPad, the Kindle has become a favorite of those who’d like to read in color due to the portability of the device. By making a competing 8 inch tablet, Apple is opening up itself to another market segment that isn’t willing to spend $500 on a tablet and isn’t too worried about having a top of the line device.
Aside from a smaller iPad possibly being unveiled, Apple is expecting to announce an iPad 3 with a retina display and a quad-core A6 chip on the first week of March.

Will Apple finally embrace LTE? Imagining the possibilities of a 4G iPad 3

iPad-3-Coming-in-March
If the forthcoming iPad 3 sports LTE 4G mobile broadband, it would represent the first Apple device to use the warp speed mobile technology many competitors have already embraced. What does it mean for users, Apple, and carriers? And how would they all go about implementing it?
It’s all still unconfirmed reporting, but The Wall Street Journal claims (subscription required) versions of Apple’s much-anticipated iPad 3 will include support for 4G LTE mobile broadband from both Verizon Wireless and AT&T. The story cites only “people familiar with the matter,” and while the WSJ has a reasonable track record on preempting Apple announcements, the famously secretive company is — well, famously secretive. Few people are likely to know what Apple will announce in regard to the iPad 3 until Apple actually makes an announcement. The latest speculation is that Apple will announce the iPad 3 in early March, with units becoming available three to six weeks later.

Apple's iPad 3 Could Face Customs Ban in China

Apple's much speculated iPad 3 has emerged as the latest target in an ongoing trademark dispute in China, after a little-known Chinese firm said on Wednesday it has filed for a customs ban with local authorities to stop the import and export of the tablet.
Ma Dongxiao, a lawyer for display vendor Proview, said the company has filed the request with the country's custom offices, but declined to offer details. "We feel that Apple is infringing on the iPad trademark," he said, adding that the company's goal was to stop shipments of Apple's next generation iPad.
Both Proview and Apple have been locked in a legal battle to determine which company owns the iPad trademark in mainland China. In December, a Shenzhen court rejected Apple's claims to the trademark, putting the company's iPad at risk of further legal action in the country.

Apple iPad 3 :- latest rumour round-up

Just when you thought the rumours had finished and we’d now be sitting quietly waiting for the iPad 3, a fresh batch of speculation has been served up.
The rumour and debate has been raging ever since we got our hands on the iPad 2 almost a year ago. But as the (expected) launch date for Apple’s next tablet draws ever closer, the rumour mill shows no sign of easing up.
So in the coming days and weeks get ready for lots more gossip and hearsay, but remember to take it all with a pinch of salt.
Of course, it’s harder to do this when we know that the iPad 3 is probably in production by now – lending a little more weight to any leaks from sources in the production process.
But that is all part of the fun. So what have we been hearing in the way of juicy gossip for the iPad 3 this week? Here is a round-up of the latest rumours.

Apple iPad 3 Release Date is Early March: Ethically Produced by Chinese Factory Workers?

Now that the all new Apple iPad 3 has a set release date of early March, the question now is will it be ethically produced by Chinese factory workers at places like Foxconn. Reports of poor working conditions in Chinese factories that make the $500 or more iPad, have forced Apple to confront the possibility it may have to intervene or at least make an effort to investigate the charges. Pro labor organizations like ChinaLabour Bulletin and Students and Scholars Against Corporate Misbehavior have alleged Foxconn is running its factories with military precision, including surveillance of workers, demanding obedience and making it clear challenging authority is out of the question. Workers are forced to do as they are told or shown the door, CNN reported.

iPad 3 vs Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6 [Rumours]

We take a look at the rumours surrounding Apple's iPad 3 and Samsung's next 11.6-inch Galaxy Tab

We compare two of the most exciting tablet prospects of 2012 – speculatively. But which, out of the iPad 3 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6, will be worth your cash in 2012?
We make an educated guess base on current rumours and leaked information below:
FormThe iPad 3's form factor has been the subject of fairly intense debate online. On the one hand, you have the camp which says it will be a highly distinctive complete revamp worthy of the new iPad 3 label.
The more probable result that is supported by a number of reports, suggests that it will very closely resemble the iPad 2's form factor. We've also heard extensive reports about it being 1mm thicker as well.

Apple iPad 3: how Apple plans to crush the opposition

For a while, Apple held the tech crown when it came to consumer devices. The iPhone was a runaway success and a revelation for the mobile phone world, while the iPod has been one of the most influential devices of the 21st Century.
But the iPod’s popularity is waning, due in part to the success of the iPhone – basically an iPod that can make calls. And as for the iPhone itself, the rise of Android devices have given it some stiff competition.
But there is one area where Apple is still sitting comfortably at the top of the pile. We’re talking of course, about tablets.
Much as it did with the iPod, Apple created a market for itself with the iPad. And it is still a market where Apple is top dog.
Of, course, Apple’s tablets have some drawbacks that have pushed users on to the likes of the Galaxy Tab or Playbook, such as price and its inability to run Flash.
So with the iPad 3 just around the corner, how will Apple stay at the top of the tablet pile? Well, as usual, the US tech giant has a few tricks up its sleeve.

The report mentions two models of the iPad that include the A6 processor and a quad-core chip.

But in all the excitement, let’s not forget about another portable device that is set for big things this year: tablets.
2011 was a big year in the smartphone market, but tablets had a great year too. We had the iPad 2, Apple’s hugely successful device, and a collection of great Android tablets.
And, like the smartphone market, tablets are gearing up for a big year of sales. All the big tech players are expected to wade in with a tablet offering of some kind, so what can we expect?

Apple iPad 3 specs hit the Web and offer plenty to talk about

It’s a new year and there isn’t going to be much to stop Apple from showing us new gadgets that we will crave until we have them.  First up is the newest generation tablet, the iPad 3.  Rumors have been circulating for a little bit and today we might have some concrete specs to finally report.  News originally reported to Bloomberg today, suggested that production for the iPad 3 has started and will continue through next month up until the launch date, which is set sometime in March of this year.  Earlier this month folks poking around in the iOS 5.1 beta found references to the possibility of quad-core support, leaving rumors to fly about the new iPad even more.

Apple iPad 3, iPhone 5, new Mac models set for release in 2012

Apple is going to keep its fans happy with the release of new products including iPad 3, iPhone 5, new Mac models besides several other products in the year 2012
Every new year brings smiles on Apple fans. This is because every new year has a number of great products in store that Apple launches throughout the year. This year is going to be no different. It will in fact be better than last year in many respects.
In the year 2011 many Apple fans were expecting an absolutely new iPhone 5. Though they got a great phone in the form of iPhone 4S, but despite all its great features, its design was the same that had come with iPhone 4. So notwithstanding improvements in specifications, they were a little disappointed.
But the year 2012 is certainly going to be a lot better for millions of Apple fans across the world than the last year. Apple in 2012 will certainly be launching a number of new and upgraded products that will attract customers from across the world. They are very excited about the chances in the mainland China that has emerged as the next best thing to Apple, where sales of iPad, iPhones and Macs has increased manifolds.

iPad 3: What to expect from Apple and when

Speculation about what the next version of Apple's best selling tablet has begun to abate a bit, which means rumour-mongers have more or less settled on what they think the next generation iPad will look like. Here's the consensus.
Display:-  There's little debate that iPad 3 will have drop dead gorgeous display. Most Apple watchers agree that the 9.7-inch panel will be QXGA quality—2048 x 1536 pixels with 270 ppi—and carry the "Retina" name. To maintain its brightness, it will need two LED bars. Current iPads have only one bar. Since a tablet computer isn't much more than a screen, it's a safe bet that Apple will be taking iPad 3's display to another level to advance its position as the leader in the tablet market.

Report: Apple iPad 3 Launching in February?

Apple's next-generation iPad might make its debut in early February, Japanese site Mackotakara (via Google Translate) has claimed.
We're in the thick of iPad rumor season, where tidbits about an updated Apple tablet tend to run the gamut from outlandish to obvious. Since Apple typically updates products on a one-year cycle, a launch around February or the following couple of months is a very safe assumption. The iPad 2 was unveiled on March 2, 2011, and the first iPad went on sale April 3, 2010.

Some of them may come true, some may not, and some of them don’t look likely at all anymore. So we’ve decided to cut through the rumor mill to bring you the features that the iPad 3 will almost definitely have.
We don’t want to say they are guaranteed, nothing in the tech world ever is, but they are close enough. And if the iPad 3 doesn’t feature them, Apple has missed a trick.
